DISTANCES ARE ONLY NUMBERS
I learned on how to use these tools for, in the beginning, handle my own remote PCs, with the time it escalated to the point friends and even friends of my friends were asking me to access their PCs to help them solve problems, after getting one of my first jobs I got the chance to do it a lot and it got to a point where I reached a professional level.
To do remote assistance or tech service it is not enough with just handling the softwares to do remote connections, which in fact are easy to learn and use, you need to have solved many problems, know about the platform you are working with and also know how to detect where the problem is really being originated, but even more important you gotta know how to distinguish between the real problem and mere symptoms, but that's something that only experience bring after repeating processes hundred of times, that's the way I learned.
SOFTWARES
I work mainly with Windows, have worked some with android and a little bit with iOS, I have thought to extend my knowledge in the last two but I also thought that I prefer to be more specialized instead of being generic and lack in several areas, as a result I mainly work with Windows.
I handle several remote control softwares and I update myself every now and then, the first one I used VNC Viewer, then Team Viewer, and lately I have been using Google Remote Desktop.
